Recipe - Puff pastry twists with fig jam
Share
Fig season is in full swing and we can't get enough of it! This delicious, juicy, and sweet fruit will continue to grace our plates until October... and fig jams allow us to enjoy it all year round!
Today, we've prepared a little treat for you, combining the crispness of puff pastry with the sweetness of fruit. Slightly nostalgic in its design, it's a real delight!
Let's get started with the recipe, step by step as always.
Ingredients :
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (ideally rectangular)
- Fig jam (here, obviously, the one from Roumanière!)
- 1 egg yolk for glazing
- sesame (optional)
Steps :
- Unroll the puff pastry and spread it with fig jam.
- Cut strips of dough approximately 3-4cm wide along the entire length.
- Twist the strips around themselves
- Brush the pastry areas with egg yolk
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds
- Bake in a hot oven for 10 minutes at 180°C (and as always, keep an eye on it during cooking).
And as always, our tips for variations on this recipe:
- Are you familiar with black sesame? It's a perfect alternative to "white" sesame for a more intense flavor... and an even more appealing visual appearance!
- you can add an even more indulgent touch by opting for the Roumanière almond fig jam .
You can enjoy these little twists simply as a snack or they can accompany a coffee at the end of a meal... or even an ice cream sundae for the hungriest!
Funny story: I had a friend who " doesn't like figs " try these twists, and... he devoured them (I even managed to make a second batch to satisfy everyone). Now I have a confirmed fig lover on my hands!
We look forward to your feedback on this simple and quick recipe, and even your own ideas for personalizing it!
