Tourism - The Lavender Museum

Provence, cicadas, lavender... The holy trinity, in a way! How can you imagine coming to discover Provence without taking a closer look at one of its jewels: lavandula officinalis Chaix, or more commonly, fine lavender from Provence .

To fill in the gaps in our knowledge, the Museum of Provence is here, ready to guide us in discovering this plant with a thousand virtues. Located in a traditional Provençal farmhouse in Coustellet, this museum dedicated to the history and expertise of lavender producers (or lavandiculteurs, for those in the know) awaits you.
A true icon of Provence, lavender reigns supreme here, and you'll leave this visit with a wealth of knowledge. From the history of the first growers to the present day, including the environmental commitments linked to its cultivation and its uses in aromatherapy and cosmetics, a team of enthusiasts will share their expertise and explain how a plant, however simple, can embody an entire region, emanating such a powerful aura.

We owe this museum to Georges Lincelé, descendant of a long line of distillers, who wanted to preserve lavender and its history by assembling his personal collection of stills. The Lincelé family, lavender growers in the Luberon, offers a wide range of lavender products made from the harvests of their estate, Château Du Bois Provence . The family's flagship product, their 100% pure and natural Haute Provence AOP fine lavender essential oil, is now a wellness essential.

But shh, we won't say any more! To be an expert, you still have to visit this museum, which lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours :)
